Awabakal Medical Clinics offer a range of mental health services that are available across all of our clinics. These include Psychiatry, Psychology, access to Social Workers and counselling services.
If you require an appointment you can do this by seeing your GP, who will coordinate your care plan.
This is the first step in the process, they’ll assess what help you need and provide options for you.
This could include:
- Having a mental health assessment
- Discussion around the various options available for treatment and support
- Creating a mental health treatment plan. A mental health treatment plan lets you claim up to 20 sessions with a mental health professional each calendar year.
- To start with, your Doctor or Psychiatrist will refer you for up to 10 sessions at a time. If you need more, there are pathways available to access further sessions.
